While I am a nurse by trade, my first passion was caring not for humans, but for animals! I became a vegetarian when I was 8 and by age 11 I had 13 pets, ranging from tadpoles, to rabbits, to rats, to dogs. We even had a parrot! We met my stepdad when I was 11 while I was volunteering at his pet store and he has been such a blessing in terms of imparting much of his knowledge onto me. We hosted dogs in our home through much of my childhood and I am excited to carry on that pet-sitting (and loving) legacy!**
I’ve had dogs since I was 4 years old. I’ve never met a cat who didn’t like me. And it turns out I’m good with rabbits too! I’m comfortable looking after any kind of animal.**
Fitz is our resident dachshund chihuahua. He is ten years old and has been so happy to have dog friends come and visit.
Roari & Linus are our resident rabbits. They live in an enclosure in our dining room and while Roari truly believes she's the queen of our home (maybe because she was named Willamette Weeks Pet Edition Best Coif 2023), it's important that dogs who stay with us don't have any interest in her or Linus as they are a part of our family and are negatively affected by too much dog attention.
**Both of us work outside of the home the majority of our shifts. We have an elementary schooler and a middle schooler who help out with animals who stay with us, but if your pup is not used to being home with only other animals as companions for periods of time (we aim for 4-5 hours MAX), we might not be the best fit for them. We love to take dogs who stay with us on long walks in the morning and often at night before bed and give them alllll the loves while we are home.
